Centre for Stress Management

The Centre for Stress Management is an international training centre and stress consultancy. It is reconised as a Centre of Expertise by the Institute of Health Promotion and Education and is an International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP) Approved Centre. The Centre offers runs management and prevention programmes, stress audits and research, stress counselling, coaching and training.
The British Psychological Society Learning Centre approves the Centre for Stress Management short 2-day Primary and extended Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma courses for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
As the Centre was established in 1987, it has become one of the leading providers of stress management training for trainers, health, management, caring and HR professionals in the United Kingdom. Since 1987 it has trained many thousands of health, management and professionals from other fields of work.
In London and Edinburgh the Centre for Stress Management runs short two day courses, modular certificate and advanced programmes in stress management. It offers an a Certificate and Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies & Stress Management. The external consultancy and training unit offers a range of short courses and longer certificated programes including stress management and cognitive behavioural therapies.
In February 2008 the Centre for Stress for Stress Management in association with the UK Centre for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and the UK Centre for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, launched two modular 5-day courses. Our most popular therapy programme is the Certificate in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. It provides an overview to CBT theory, research and practice. The Certificate in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy givers an insight into a different CBT approach based on the work of Dr Albert Ellis. These CPD programmes are suitable for health professionals who wish to gain skills and knowledge in these approaches.
Courses in London are held at the training centre at the British Psychological Society and Royal Society for Public Health offices in central London. Courses in Edinburgh are normally held at the Royal Scots Club.

Participants must attend over 90% of an individual course to satisfy the attendance requirements. Certificates of attendance are provided. Full Primary Certificates are only awarded to delegates successfully completing a written assignment undertaken at home.
The Director of the Centre is Professor Stephen Palmer PhD.
In association with The Centre for Coaching, The Centre also offers executive, business, performance, stress and life coaching. In association with the Internatioanl Academy for Professional Development it runs distance and blended learning courses.
