International Academy for Professional Development Ltd

The International Academy for Professional Development Ltd was launched in 2010. It has been set up to provide three key services:

  1. Centralises the administration of the short and extended courses for the different Centres of Expertise
  2. Centralises the professional body course recognition and accreditation for the Centres of Expertise
  3. Provides internationally a range of courses offered by the Centres of Expertise group using distance and blended learning methods.

In addition, the International Academy will be offering the following professional development and practice programmes:

  1. Certificate in Professional Development (Topic Specialism) (equivalent to Level 6)
  2. Certificate in Work Based Professional Development (Topic Specialism) (equivalent to Level 6)

These courses provide students with a blended learning approach to continuing professional development and education in their own particular field of work. Examples could include:

  • Coaching Supervision
  • Positive Psychology

The only limitation on the topic specialism is the requirement for the International Academy for Professional Development to be able to provide a suitable staff member attached to one of its centres or faculties to supervise the student.

The general courses objectives are below. The higher level programmes require a longer assignment to be completed.
